White Pearls approx. 3-4x7mm Keshi 16" Str

These irridescent white pearls are a classic, creamy luster.  Light catches the brilliant, almost AB finish to the naquer and picks up hints of pinks and greens.  The unique shape is a playful take on the "classic white pearl."    Keshi pearls owe their luster to the fact that they are solid naquer, a by-product of the traditional cultivating process.  These pearls are shaped like cornflakes and drilled through the center.  The bead size varies slightly within each strand. An excellent value for the price.  The holes in these pearls will accomodate cable wire up to .014 diameter, silk with attached needle up to size 4, or Fireline for the "floating bead" look.

White pearls are very versatile, and can be paired with just about any gemstone or metal for a dressier look. The organic look of this shape will lend itself well to being paired with natural stone. Try using these pearls as spacers between:  Rose Quartz, Chrysoprase, Rhodochrosite, Garnet, Amethyst, Peridot, Black Onyx, Moonstone, Sodalite, Blue Pietersite, or Iolite. Create a more traditional piece by knotting on white silk and attaching a 14 kt gold clasp. Swarovski crystal beads such as Crystal, Crystal AB, Siam, Garnet, Tanzanite, Purple Velvet, Dark Sapphire, Rose, and Jet pair contrast nicely with white pearls.

Because pearls are nature’s gems each pearl and each strand is slightly different. We offer near endless options in our stores, but for our online store we have selected those with the most uniformity that we can obtain in quantity. However, when a particular batch runs out, it usually can’t be exactly replaced, so please anticipate your needs and order enough to complete your project.

Traditionally pearls have been knotted between each bead to protect them from rubbing against each other and to insure that if the necklace breaks, valuable pearls are not lost. Knotting is an option of you like the classical look, but with today’s improved stringing materials and lower prices for pearls, it is not necessary. It is, however, best not to put sharp or abrasive beads next to your pearls and pearls should be protected from chemicals including soaps, lotions, perfumes, and hair products. If necessary rinse pearls in warm water and dry with a soft cloth. Read more about pearls in our Dictionary of Beads in the Reference section.

Strands are 15-16" long with approximately 112 beads.
